How long does a virus or bacteria have to be exposed to a ultraviolet light before is killed?
For the OR, an hour is good.
Reply:Depends,some are "hardier" than others.
Reply:My dad uses UV sterilizing system to autoclave his surgical equipments/ rooms


Its done for 15 mins for autoclaves. Dont really know about other uses
Reply:From my understanding about a couple of seconds.
Reply:Some bacteria need more than ultraviolet light to meet there demise. Bleach is a good deproteiniser. If your worried about delicate instruments. I would suggest soaking your instruments in bleach then rinse and UV it.
