Can hand sanitizer kill the leprosy bacteria ? I saw Princess Diana touching a possible leper...?

Leprosy is the least contagious disease. One cannot acquire it by touching a patient once. One has to live in prolonged contact with a patient, about 20 years in order to catch it. She touched the person to prove that point and overcome the stigma attached to the disease, since biblical times. Remember Ben Hur?

Can hand sanitizer kill the leprosy bacteria ? I saw Princess Diana touching a possible leper...?
first off where did you hear that hand sanitizers kill leprosy it is not true. second its not at all funny to say that you saw princess diana touching a possible leper she was a very kind and loving person did the world a lot of gratness starting homes in africa for the people that had aids and its not polite to talk ill of the dead
Reply:Isn't Princess diana dead already?
Reply:since she's dead, I don't think it really matters.
Reply:Antibiotics now cure leperosy. If she did touch one she probably was not afraid to do it since the worlds best medical care was available to her if she did contract the disease.
Reply:Leprosy is the least contagious of all of the contagious diseases in the world. It is caused by the slowest growing human pathogen known. It is possible for a person to live with a family member who has leprosy for many years and never come down with it.

Hand sanitizer wouldn't have been necessary, however it's a rather moot point, isn't it?
Reply:The person who first replied to this is wrond. Hand sanitizer usually kills 99.9% of BACTERIA. Leprosy is a bacterila infection, so yes it should kill it. wash your hands thuroughly with hot water. you'll be fine.
