Can someone please explain the mechanics of it?
How do hand sanitizers (alcohol) kill bacteria?
hand sanitizer kills both good and bad bacteria. it is recommended that you use handsanitizer before and after meals as an alternative for soap and water, but it shouldn't be used too frequently because, like i said, it kills ALL bacteria on the hands. if helpful bacteria is weakened it can invite harmful bacteria in!
Reply:the alcohol destroys the bacteria's cell wall, which means it cannot survive without it, and eventually die
