Can you describe to me how bacteria are pathogens?
Bacteria that causes disease are called pathogenic bacteria.
Reply:a pathogen is a foreign substance to the body... something that the body doesn't recognize so bacteria is something the body doesn't recognize

Bacteria can be good (symbiotic) like the ones that live in your digestive tract, or they can be bad (pathogenic) like E. coli 0157 or cholera.





Sometimes bacteria can produce toxins that destroy tissue in the host organism. Other times, they can spread to the organism's blood, which can cause death. This is called sepsis.
