.....used to select for bactria that have a taken up the plasmid.

a.antigens

b.DNA repair

c.antibiotic resistance

d.DNA transcription

e.active transport

h.both a d are correct.

i.both f and g are correct.

When a plasmid is transferred into bacteria a selection gene tht expresses a protein for ______ is often .....
C is really the only one that is used often.
Reply:The answer is "C" antibiotic resistance. Once the bacteria has taken up the plasmid it expresses or turns on the antibiotic resistance located in the lac z gene. This gene allow the bacteria to start producing the antibiotic. After the bacteria is plated on an antibiotic media ONLY the bateria with the plasmid will grow on the plate. All other bacteria that did not up take the plasmid will be killed. (no resistant to the antibiotic) This is due the the anitbioic resistance that those bateria were able to produce.
